Why I Created The FNDRY

A few years ago, if you had asked me who I was, I would have had a simple answer.

I was a mum, someone working in the corporate world, and if I’m being completely honest, someone who had never taken health and fitness particularly seriously.

Then I became a mother.

From that moment, everything changed. I was completely devoted to my children. Nothing had ever filled my heart or made me feel more like myself than motherhood did.

A few years later, I had two beautiful children — a two-year-old daughter and a four-month-old son. It felt like a dream come true.

Early in my second postpartum journey, I made a decision. I was finished having children, and it was finally time to prioritise my own health. I completely transformed my lifestyle. I focused on nutrition, learning about protein, healthy fats, fibre, and building sustainable habits. For the first time in my life, I started lifting weights consistently.

And I felt incredible.

Then, suddenly, everything changed.

I became incredibly unwell. I was exhausted beyond anything I had ever experienced. I could barely get off the couch. I struggled to care for my children, my family, and myself.

Not long after, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma.

In an instant, the life I had been building came to a halt.

The months that followed were some of the hardest of my life. While my treatment was relatively short, it was intense. There were no real breaks, no opportunities to catch my breath. Every day felt like a battle. At the same time, I was still trying to be a mother to two very young children.

There were moments when simply getting through the day felt impossible.

When treatment finally ended and recovery began, I returned to the healthy lifestyle that had been taken from me only months before. Slowly, I started rebuilding. My strength returned. My energy improved. My confidence grew.

The more I recovered, the more I realised how powerful those small daily habits truly were.

My doctors and naturopath commented on how well I was recovering, but the truth is that my recovery wasn’t built on anything extraordinary. It was built on simple actions repeated consistently. Eating nourishing food. Moving my body. Looking after my mind. Showing up for myself, even when it felt difficult.

And that’s when a thought kept returning to me:

What if I could help other women do the same?

Not just women who had experienced cancer.

All women.

Women rebuilding after illness. After postpartum. After burnout. After heartbreak. After loss. Women navigating seasons of life that leave them feeling disconnected from themselves.

Because the reality is that most of us, at some point, find ourselves needing to start again.

I had already been supporting the women around me in this way. Encouraging them. Sharing what I had learned. Helping them create healthier habits and stronger foundations.

So I decided to build something bigger.

That’s how The FNDRY was born.

The FNDRY exists to help women come back to themselves. To rebuild their strength, confidence, routines, health, and identity — one small step at a time.

I can’t change your life for you.

But I can provide tools, guidance, resources, and a community of women walking a similar path. I can help you create the foundations that support the life you want to build.

Because rebuilding isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about returning to who you were always capable of being.

And if my creations can help you do that — even in the smallest way — then The FNDRY has already served its purpose.
